Every business we talked to had the same problem — just in different shapes. A box of receipts under a desk. An email inbox used as a filing system. A supplier asking you to resend a document you know you already have, somewhere.
The frustrating part isn't that the documents don't exist. They exist. You just can't find them. And every minute spent searching is a minute not spent running the business.
Existing document tools didn't solve this — they just moved the pile into software. You still had to manually upload, manually name, manually sort. The chaos moved from physical to digital, but it was still chaos.
